THE PURPOSE:

Statistic Canada National Population Health Survey shows that adolescent girls tend to have a lower self-concept (a sense of self-worth and a feeling of control) than boys and are particularly susceptible to the effects of that perception such as teen pregnancy, depression, various health issues and obesity. A positive self-concept appears key to developing good mental and physical health.

The VISION is to be the Ray of Hope that provides an avenue for teen girls to have fun while learning to master the skills of life.

OUR MISSION:

To ignite the brilliance within young people by training them to be effective leaders and citizens who are equipped to develop the next generation of leaders.

OUR PROGRAMS:

Girls of Destiny Summer Leadership and Charm Camp, for girls aged 11-16, began summer 2003 and focuses on fun and friendship while addressing issues specific to girls such as, leadership, social skills, healthy living, and self-confidence. A team of professionals who volunteer their time and services instructs the camp workshops.

Workshops and activities include diet and exercise, self-esteem and team building, friendship, cliques, personal grooming, posture and poise, communication, etiquette, table manners, cardio exercise, dance, drama, skin care, hair and make up application and much more.

Mother /Daughter retreat SPA day: 

Mother and daughter spend time enjoying each other in a relaxing country atmosphere.

Global Community Outreach:

Joint ventures with Team Work Children’s Services –Kenya and City of Hope Orphanage
